The Dear Black Man Docuseries, created by CARN3Y and Whakim Lumpkins, is a collage of conversations with black men/women who discuss their journey as African Americans in today’s world. With strong racial tensions found across America, Whakim Lumpkins directs a series of interview style questions during each episode which allows the featured guest to speak their truth. This series includes 9 total episodes ranging from teachers, pastors, business owners, law enforcement, council members, and more. Each episode can be found on CARN3Y’s Youtube channel.

A current Olean, NY resident, Ty is the first episode in which the guest star is not from Olean. Having now lived in Olean for over a decade, Ty shares his experiences growing up as a black man in a prominently white community, his journey to becoming a pastor and business owner, the struggles of both, and much more.
